1. Beach vacation or mountain vacation?
Mountain Vacations! Fresh air, great views, physical challenges. Beaches= Drowning and sunburn.

2. What is the best band you’ve ever seen live?
Wilco in 1999 at the old Higher Ground in Winooski. The band played three encores and then did some covers because they didn’t want to leave either. We were all totally spent and content.

3. What was your first car?
My first car was a hand me down from my sister, a 1967 Buick GS400. That’s 400 cubic inches of big block Buick with a cavernous 4 barrel carburetor in the hands of a 17 year old. Never lost a drag race.

4. Who is your Doppelganger?
Sir Patrick Stewart-“Make it so!”

5. What is the best thing about working in a craft brewery?
The best thing about working in a craft brewery is that it takes a whole team effort to make it happen, and the work is both mentally and physically challenging. Plus at the end of the day there is something tangible (and delicious) to show for all that hard work!

6. What is your favorite Switchback brew?
That’s like asking me to name my favorite child. I love all of them equally.

1. What was your first car?
1995 Saab 900 convertible. It was black, had a hole in the roof, no A/C and I had to crawl out the window NASCAR style by its last days, but I loved it. May it rest in peace.

2. If a zombie apocalypse were upon us, where would you retreat to?
The brewery. I could lock the doors, drink beer, raid McKenzie’s hot dog fridge and sleep on the malt bags. Heaven!

3. What concentration did you attain your degree in?
Majored in Mechanical Engineering. Minored in tailgating.

4. Do you know any other languages?
Does technical German count? Frieda (the keg line) and I can converse in German, but I wouldn’t be able to carry on a conversation with a human.

5. How did you end up working for Switchback?
I called once a month for 5 months until I annoyed Bill enough that he agreed to allow me to clean kegs one day a week. During that period of harassment I worked at an orchard, a chocolate factory and sold Vermont art all of which were great jobs, but made me realize that I wanted to work in a manufacturing/engineering setting.

6. What’s your favorite Switchback beer?
Switchback Ale because it’s great for any occasion. Whether I’m drinking a pint while sitting outside on Church Street, pouring directly off the keg at a New Year’s party, or enjoying a bottle on my porch it’s always the perfect beer.

I’d pick a Rhinoceros. It’s an armor plated unicorn with a name like a dinosaur.

Gin and Tonics with Barr Hill Gin in the warm months and Hot Toddies in the cold ones.

3. If the zombie apocalypse were upon us, where would you retreat to?

4. Can you tie a tie?
Yes, sometimes you have to slay some dragons before reaching the princess. Jobs with ties are my dragons and Switchback is my princess.

5. What concentration did you earn your degree in?
Double majored in Business and Economics

6. What’s your favorite Switchback beer?
Switchback Ale. I fell in love with Switchback Ale before I knew it was a local beer or anything about it; I just loved the taste. Now I’m part of the team that makes it, it’s a dream job.

I would retreat to Lincoln, VT and build a barricade around our cabin and pond stocked with trout. I would also grow a garden. When winter hits, I’ll snowshoe out and kill the zombie stuck deep in the snow.

4. What is your favorite alcoholic drink that isn’t Switchback?
Cabin Fever Maple Whiskey!

5. If you had to team up with a coworker for a brewery wheel barrel race, who would you choose and why?

1. What is your favorite Switchback brew?
The Roasted Red Ale; red ales have always been a favorite of mine for their balance and depth of flavors. The one we produce here, at Switchback, is second-to-none.

The Mars Volta; an improvisational rock group that is as intense as they are original. I saw them at Higher Ground, and it was the best show I have seen.

4. What is the best thing about working in a brewery?
I go to work happy, knowing that I will face new challenges every day, and it will never stop. My career has taken an exciting new path which I find refreshing and rejuvenating. I am immersed in a fraternity of characters who have more passion than I have seen in years.

5. Who would play you in the Switchback Brewing Company feature film?
“Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” -Nick Offerman

Anything that gets me outside, anytime of the year, name it.

1. What was your first car?
My first car was a 1966 Ford Mustang. Ever since I was younger, I always had a love for old muscle cars. My dream is to own a 1968 Ford Mustang GT.

2. If a zombie apocalypse were upon us, where would you retreat to?
If the zombie apocalypse started, and I wanted to retreat somewhere, I would go to an island in the Caribbean. You would never have to worry about them again.

3. What do you do for fun outside of work?
On my free time, I really enjoy being outside. One of my favorite things to do, is go camping on a disc golf course. Drink, chill, and throw Frisbees at baskets. There's not much of a better life then that.

4. What is the best band you’ve ever seen live?
The best band I ever saw was Rage Against the Machine in Hartford Ct.

5. If you had to ride one animal into battle, what would it be and why?
The one animal I would ride into battle would be a Woolly Mammoth. This animal is huge with very long tusks, plus it has a very warm coat on it, so it wont freeze in the coldest weather. It's a badass animal, with a strong back force.
